The first meeting of the Belgian Network for AF4EU took place at ‘t Spaans kwartier, Groenestraat 14, 8691 Izenberge, on September 13th, 2023.
During the 1st RAIN meeting, actors such as farmers, researchers, policy makers and advisors were in attendance. An introduction of the including AF4EU objectives, current and some future expected activities, objectives and results and its connections with the AFINET project was carried out, followed by an open discussion round about the most relevant innovations and value chain knowledge needs according to their own personal and sector criteria.
To wrap up this session, an immediate result survey using Mentimeter was conducted. Before starting the survey, stakeholders were informed that they should rate the statements based on their experience in the region, thus thinking about their own farm when answering the questions.
