The AF4EU project will host an exclusive parliamentary session titled “Integrating Agroforestry Innovations into EU Policy” on 11th November 2025 at the European Parliament in Brussels.
This high-level policy dialogue will bring together European policymakers, researchers, and international experts to discuss how agroforestry innovations can be better integrated into EU agricultural and environmental policies. The session will highlight agroforestry’s role in supporting the European Green Deal, Farm to Fork Strategy, and the EU Climate Adaptation objectives.
Hosted by Mr. Nicolás González Casares, Member of the European Parliament, the event will serve as a platform to exchange insights on how policy frameworks can accelerate the adoption of agroforestry systems across Europe, supporting both farmers’ livelihoods and environmental sustainability

Strengthening the Role of Agroforestry in European Policy
This parliamentary session will underscore the importance of integrating scientific knowledge, field innovation, and policy action to unlock the full potential of agroforestry within the EU’s agricultural landscape.
Through the contributions of distinguished speakers from the European Parliament, FAO, and the University of Santiago de Compostela, the discussion will focus on:
