On 18 November 2025, the European AF4EU Project held its official results presentation day at the Lycée Édouard de Chambray in Gouville, Normandy (Mesnils-sur-Iton, France). The event brought together students, researchers, local authorities, farmers, and regional agroforestry actors to discuss the outcomes of the three-year European programme and to highlight ongoing initiatives in the Normandy territory.

The morning session was livestreamed to allow broader public participation and ensure that AF4EU knowledge and tools can continue to reach new audiences across Europe.

Opening Session: Project Presentation and Objectives

The programme began at 9:00 with welcome remarks and an introduction to the AF4EU project vision and implementation strategy. Speakers presented the project’s context within European agriculture and highlighted how agroforestry contributes to climate resilience, rural development, biodiversity enhancement and sustainable land management.

Showcasing Project Outputs and Achievements

Between 9:30 and 10:30, participants received an overview of AF4EU’s main achievements and the materials developed throughout the project.

These include:

  • the AF Knowledge Cloud digital platform,

  • the European Agroforestry MOOC,

  • the Alive Handbook featuring innovative farms and value chains,

  • and the decision-support tool for agroforestry business planning.

The session demonstrated how these tools will continue to support farmers, advisors, students and trainers long after the project ends.

Networking and Informal Exchange

From 10:30 to 11:00, participants gathered for a coffee break, allowing time for informal discussion, networking and strengthening cooperation between project partners and local stakeholders.

Normandy Agroforestry Voices and Regional Perspectives

The late morning session (11:30 – 12:30) focused on three key agroforestry initiatives in Normandy, highlighting diverse land-use practices and community engagement in the region:

  • Aude Rives (MSV) & Mathias André
Presentation on hedge planting, maintenance and the economic and environmental value of bocage hedgerows.

  • Hélène Michaud & Laurine Ansart (OFB / CDC Cingal – Suisse Normande)
Update on the LIFE Project, including progress made and its contribution to landscape restoration and ecological connectivity.

  • Didier Duedal (Ferme des Pâtures / ADAN)
Introduction to ADAN – the Association for Agroforestry Development in Normandy – and its ongoing regional activities supporting farmers and local organisations.

A Successful Day for Cooperation and Knowledge Sharing

The Normandy results day underscored the importance of regional collaboration in promoting agroforestry, and demonstrated how AF4EU outcomes are already inspiring new actions, partnerships and training structures.

By connecting European project results with local field experience, the event highlighted the strong role that Normandy farmers and institutions are playing in shaping the future of agroforestry in France and Europe.
